๐ต๏ธ Two Truths and a Lie
Each person states two true facts and one lie about themselves. The others must interview them or use logic to "debug" the statements and identify the lie.
โ๏ธ RPS Train
Everyone plays Rock-Paper-Scissors with a partner. The loser becomes the winner's "biggest fan," cheering behind them. Winners keep playing winners until two massive teams cheer for two finalists.
๐คซ Silent Birthday Line-Up
The entire group lines up in order of birth date (Jan 1 โ Dec 31). The catch: zero talking and no writing โ only finger signals and body language.
๐จ Back-to-Back Draw
Pairs sit back-to-back. One has a simple picture (e.g. a cat on a laptop) and must describe it using only geometric terms โ lines, circles, angles โ while the other draws it. Trainers can offer a set of pictures to pick from.
๐ก Worst App Pitch
Groups have 5 minutes to invent a completely useless app (e.g. a "Flashlight App" that only works when the sun is out), then give a 30-second investor-style pitch trying to sell it.
โ๏ธ Paper Plane โ Distance Challenge
Each group gets 1 sheet of paper and 3 minutes to design one plane. Everyone throws at once โ the plane that travels the furthest wins.
๐ผ Paper Tower
Each group gets 10 sheets of paper and no tape. Build the tallest tower that stands on its own for at least 10 seconds. Optional: hand out 10cm of tape after a certain period.
๐ฏ Paper Plane โ Target Challenge
Same setup as the distance challenge, but teams throw for accuracy โ landing in a box or on a target sheet placed in the center of the room.
๐ 5-Word Story
Each group gets 5 random, unrelated words (e.g. "umbrella, algorithm, grandmother, volcano, Tuesday"). After 2 minutes prep, one spokesperson tells a continuous 60โ90 second story that naturally works in all 5 words โ it has to make sense, not just list them. Vote on creativity and fluency.
โ๏ธ Arabic Phone
The classic telephone game โ pass a word or phrase from one person to the next, whispered only once. Compare what comes out at the end to what went in.
๐๏ธ Just a Minute (JAM)
Based on the BBC panel game. Draw a random topic and speak about it for 60 seconds โ no hesitation, repetition, or deviation. Falter, and anyone can challenge to steal the floor. Whoever's talking when the minute ends wins. Great for IT topics: "Cloud Computing," "My First Bug," "Why Semicolons Matter."
๐ง ELI5 Tech Challenge
Draw a random IT/tech term from a hat (e.g. "API," "recursion," "load balancer," "encryption"). Explain it in 60 seconds as if the audience is five โ no jargon, simple analogies only. Audience votes on clarity and creativity.
๐ Fortunately / Unfortunately
A classic improv exercise. The group builds one story together, one sentence at a time, alternating "Fortunately..." and "Unfortunately..." sentences around the room โ a short, low-pressure turn for everyone, with a funny, unpredictable flip each time.
๐๏ธ "Montagsmaler"
One person draws a topic while the rest of their team tries to guess it. Topics come from a shared pool, with one person per team drawing each round. Most points at the end wins.
๐ญ Tech Charades
The instructor secretly gives one person a tech-related word (e.g. "firewall," "recursion," "deadlock," "load balancer"). In 60 seconds they must get the class to shout the exact word using acting and gestures only โ no talking, no mouthing, no pointing at letters. First correct guess wins the round, then someone else takes a turn.
